This is an opportunity for students
to learn some new skills to help them create their own writing. When we read an author's story, it can take
us to places we've never been before. In the same way, we can write our own story to take our readers, or audience,
on journeys they've never been before. We're in "control" of the people, places and action! Come
with us and map out what makes good writers!
The entire morning will be time for students to hear about
the practices and magic of writing. We are happy to announce that Jeff Savage will be our guest author! Jeff
is the author of over 170 books including: Julie Foudy: Soccer Superstar, Home Run Kings,
Pioneering Women of the Wild West, and Top 25 Tips and Tricks: Soccer. There will be small group sessions
for the students led by bay area teachers presenting more ideas and activities to spark the writer in all our students!
Parents
will also have an opportunity to learn how to support their children in becoming writers! Leigh's Favorite
Books will be present with books about writing as well as popular children's literature! Make sure your child is
signed up for this wonderful event! (Grades K - 8)
