Celebrate Literacy Award

The Celebrate Literacy Award is to identify and recognize a local individual, agency or institution that has made significant contributions to literacy. The award is granted by the local council through the jurisdiction of the California Reading Association and the International Reading Association.

Persons wishing to nominate an individual or agency are required to complete the form (click on link above) and attach additional information to clarify the reasons for the nomination. For additional information, see the Guidlelines above (click on link) in regard to the nominating, eligibility, and selection criterion.

Previous nominees not selected may be renominated for the current award. All nominations will be submitted to a committee of community members. This committee will select the winner and notify the Reading Council of its selection.

The Literacy Award will be presented at the Multicultural Dinner -- February 29th, 2012.

Nominations must be received by 5:00, January 20th, 2012.
